About the Project

What is the Civic Reconstruction Project?

The Civic Reconstruction Project is a series of efforts to develop and strengthen our capacities for living together in a free, democratic society.

Democracy is not inevitable, nor is it is easy. And it is perpetually under attack by those committed to their own interests rather than the collective good. In order for democracy to survive, as a form of government but also as a way of living together, we need to become better at it. And, as we feel that there is no single correct way to do this, the Civic Reconstruction Project engages with multiple partners, employing multiple forms of education and lifelong learning to promote civic capacities.
